CmapServer on new server at district...error

After about 6 hours of studying and trying to understand a specific configuration file, and with Jacks advice, I finally uploaded it to the server and ran the installer. No Go. Got this output which I sent to the IHMC Cmap people--hope they can help!

dgroos@cmap:/srv$ ./LinuxCmapServer_v4.18_06-09-08.bin f

Anyone get this?

  1. Rodrigo from the Institute of Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) replied back. He said the silent mode install only worked if there were a GUI such as KDE or GNOME running on the machine which my server hasn't. However, he said to install in console mode. Vamos a ver...

  2. Hmmm... I get the same error message when running the installer in console mode...

  3. you can configure X window tunneling on your ssh session, then the java frontend shows up on your client console.

  4. Thanks John--I've not tried it but sounds cool. I'll be setting it up soon to try it out, when school's out!
